DESCRIPTION:
The Model SA-300 USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Converter Kit is a 3-in-1 converter for converting USB 2.0 to SATA, IDE 40pin, or IDE 44pin (2.5" hard disk). It gives you the convenient solution to connect your SATA/IDE hard disk and CD-ROM and more to your PC or Notebook.. This high speed connection is better suited for use with Hard Disk Drives, CDRoms, CD-R\W and DVDRom drives than the older USB 1.1 standard. The converter itself is powered from the USB connection. A power supply is also included. Software drivers for Windows 98, 98SE, ME, XP* and 2000* are supplied.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
A USB 2.0 connection is necessary to take full advantage of the high-speed interface, but the unit is backward compatible with slower USB 1.1. Add-in Cards are available to upgrade your computer to USB 2.0. You can add most any type of portable storage to your PC using the SA-300. It is compatible with IDE/SATA devices, including Hard Disk Drives, CDROM drives, CD-R/W drives, DVD-ROM drives. A CDROM, included, contains all necessary software drivers.
*Windows XP and 2000 automatically detects the SA-300 without installing drivers.
